Lagavulin Pillage 2007 Whisky 14 Year Old
Out of stock
First created in 2003 as a charitable bottling for Macmillan Cancer Support, a team of Islay rowers travelled round Islay by boat collecting whiskies from each of the operating distilleries at the time. This particular bottling is from 2007, comprised of whiskies 'pillaged' from seven different distilleries, all of which are at least 14 years old. It is incredibly collectable, as this is 1 of only 250 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with copper-gold highlights and a sunset hue
Nose
Coastal peat smoke swirls with sea-salt brightness, edged by iodine and mineral lift. Beneath, sherried sweetness emerges—ripe raisin, dark chocolate, and toffee—through velvety vanilla and spice. Oak lends structure as whispers of almond, ash and tar knit the aroma together. The Lagavulin peat remains unmistakable: medicinal, maritime, and refined, inviting the next sip.
Palate
Opulent peat blankets the palate, a smoky tide over salted caramel and dark chocolate. Sherry sweetness threads through dried fig and raisin, while iodine and sea-salt lend mineral lift. A velvety, full-bodied texture at 51.6% ABV delivers oak spice and leather, with a long finish of ember, brine and refined peat smoke.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with maritime brine and iodine, giving way to rich sherry sweetness. Pebbled peat, dark chocolate, and dried figs unfold, joined by warming spice and toasted oak as the final echoes linger luxuriously.
