Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with radiant copper undertones and a warm honey glow.
Nose
Coastal peat smoke floods the nose, enhanced by medicinal iodine and sea-salt brine. Vanilla and honeyed sweetness weave through the aroma, while sherry-kissed raisins and fig offer dark fruit depth beneath smoky, charred oak. A subtle maritime mineral lift lingers, quintessential Islay character from a rare 1980s Lagavulin release.
Palate
A bold maritime palate of peat smoke and iodine envelopes the tongue, tempered by velvety vanilla and toffee. Briny sea-salt notes mingle with dark chocolate, espresso and dried fruit, while sherry-cask sweetness furnishes a rich fruity backbone. Subtle spice—pepper and clove—lifts the finish, which lingers with smoke, mineral notes and warming oak.
Finish
Long maritime peat smoke lingers, edged with iodine and sea-salt. Sherry notes unfold—raisin, fig and dark chocolate—woven with toasty oak. A final ember of cocoa and ash trails into a warm, coastal finish, carrying refined spice and a lingering Islay glow.
