This 7 year old Lagavulin Jazz Festival Exclusive, which can only be found on particular ecom channels, is a new edition to the event this year, which Lagavulin hope will delight fans of the brand who are unable to make it to the Distillery in person.
"We created this young single malt scotch whisky as a golden opportunity to showcase the vibrancy and life that is found in Lagavulin spirit, and the seven years in cask just hones the flavour and adds a touch of sweetness without dampening any of its vibrancy. It’s a fairly straightforward and uncomplicated whisky! The addition of ex-bourbon casks, along with the bottling at cask strength offers a different perspective on the other well-known Lagavulin whisky flavours."

Colour
Deep golden amber with sun-kissed honey and coppery glints.
Nose
Powerful Lagavulin peat smoke swirls with soot, iodine and sea spray, vivid and maritime. Beneath, vanilla and caramel from ex-bourbon casks mingle with citrus zest and a touch of almond, imparting a honeyed sweetness that brightens the aroma without dulling the Islay vigor.
Palate
Bold peat and sea spray lead, mingling with vanilla and honeyed sweetness from the ex-bourbon casks. Creamy malt, citrus zest and a touch of toffee brighten the mid-palate, while peppery spice and a salt-kissed, lingering finish carry the cask-strength warmth. Lively, direct Islay character in a compact, joyous package.
Finish
Long maritime peat lingers, woven with vanilla and toffee from ex-bourbon casks. At cask strength, a creamy warmth unfolds into subtle spice, with a final wave of smoke that coats the palate in sunlit Islay character.
