This expression of Lagavulin was awarded a Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge between 2008 and 2010. The intense flavours of the Distiller’s Edition reveal themselves when drunk with just a drop of water.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Sherry-hued, deep copper-amber with mahogany undertones.
Nose
Powerful peat and sea air open the nose, unmistakably Lagavulin, deepened by Pedro Ximénez sweetness. Raisin and prune unfold with fig, toffee and dark chocolate, all brushed with vanilla and a whisper of leather. A velvety sherry warmth lingers, while a subtle mineral bite and muted medicinal note provide a refined, lingering finish.
Palate
Opulent and robust on the palate, Lagavulin layers peat and smoke with Pedro Ximénez sweetness. Raisin, fig and date mingle with dark chocolate and toffee, carried by a creamy, oaked texture. Spices lift the mid-palate as a long, warm finish unfolds—coastal smoke lingers with refined sweetness.
Finish
Long, luxurious and smoky, with Lagavulin’s signature peat tempered by PX sweetness. Raisined warmth folds into dark chocolate and leather, then slowly fades into a creamy, coastal glow—minerally and smoky—with a lingering whisper of salt.
