After its initial ageing in traditional oak casks, the whisky receives a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, adding layers of rich sweetness and dried fruit that complement Lagavulin’s powerful peat smoke. Bottled at 43% ABV, it offers a deeper and more indulgent interpretation of the distillery’s classic style.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark copper-amber with a mahogany core and a glistening copper edge, a glossy, honeyed hue that hints at PX sherry refinement and peat-smoked depth.
Nose
Deep and expressive, the nose offers dark oak and raisin aromas, seasoned by liquor from Pedro Ximénez casks. A sweet wine warmth sedates the peat, while fragrant smoke sits on grounded notes of oak and wine. With time, the smoke rises, hinting at the whisky’s unquenchable intensity.
Palate
Oily and sweet-spicy from the first sip, the sweetness fully integrated and never cloying, delivering a raisin-sweet smokiness rich in dark malt. The smoke intensifies as the peat asserts itself, with a salty drying edge and a hint of espresso joining the mix. The sweetness remains beautifully woven with smoke, salt and spice on the palate.
Finish
An exceptionally long finish, enveloped in dark, smoky intensity. Warm oak-spice carries through, with the smoke lingering in the aftertaste.
