Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery sheen and ruby-tinged edges, a warm honey-gold core that glows in the glass.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and medicinal iodine rise from the glass, with coastal brine and ash. Sherry warmth threads through dried orange zest, fig and cocoa, while vanilla and toasted almond give a subtle sweetness. A mineral, waxy edge keeps it poised and refined—an Islay perfume that lingers with collectible gravitas.
Palate
Gentle Ardbeg peat greets the palate with smoky, medicinal bite, softened by sherry-cask sweetness. Coastal ash and iodine mingle with dried cherry and fig, while vanilla-spice threads lift taut oak. The finish is long and dry, with persistent peat and a hint of cocoa, leaving a refined, hypnotic smoke.
Finish
Long, coastal peat coats the palate, a sea-salt kiss and iodine lingering in the smoke. Sherry-driven dark fruit—dried cherry and fig—softly surround it before giving way to a resinous, cocoa-spiced dryness. The finish lingers with an elegant, smoky echo.
