Vintage_Y2K 24 Years Old is Dr. Bill’s tribute to the Committee’s 25th Anniversary, doing something that Ardbeg has never done before: he finishes a batch of the rediscovered millennium spirit in hand-selected Amontillado sherry casks, which is his favourite sherry of all time. By marrying the liquid with classic Ardbeg, the result is a vintage smoky Ardbeg infused with powerful new flavours – creamy toffee, antique leather and almond nuts.
Laid down in the year 2000 amidst the millennium bug frenzy, Ardbeg Y2K 24 years old is the second release of this serendipitous rare stock. Matured in bourbon casks, with a portion downloaded into amontillado sherry casks to be finished, a first for Ardbeg.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Powerfully aromatic and spicy, the nose unfurls creamy toffee, flowering blackcurrants, creosote, coal-tar soap, antique leather and almond nuts. A splash of water releases charcoal, graphite and damp moss, finishing with a distinct sooty nuance.
Palate
Astonishingly powerful and spicy on the palate, with a burst of deep intense, smoky flavours – coal tar mingles with woodsmoke, while antiseptic lozenges meet bonfire embers. The Amontillado sherry casks are present, albeit in the background, with subtle notes of toffee, leather, cinnamon and clove.
Finish
Long and lingering aftertaste, there are hints of menthol, eucalyptus, linseed oil and charcoal.
