Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch #7 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 19 Year Old · 2006 Vintage
In stock
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch #7 is the final batch of this celebrated 19 year old expression of Ardbeg single malt whisky.
From the Ardbeg Distillery to Port Ellen and beyond, follow the rugged coastline and you’ll encounter the breathtaking beauty of Traigh Bhan (pronounced tri-van) — the serene stretch of shore known to locals as the Singing Sands. Here, the soft white sands whisper beneath your feet, their haunting song rising and falling with the wind and tide. Yet, for all its charm, this place holds hidden dangers. Though the waters may appear calm and inviting, sharp volcanic rocks lie just beneath the surface — a quiet warning to those tempted to wade in.
Much like its namesake, Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old is both captivating and complex. An exquisite example of mature Ardbeg, this whisky reveals elegant, smoky depths that unfold in waves — powerful yet never overpowering. Lingering long after the final sip, it’s a rare and remarkable dram. Non chill-filtered and bottled at 50.3% ABV, it retains full flavour, depth, and body. A slight cloudiness may appear when water is added — a natural characteristic of its unfiltered purity.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Intense and commanding, the nose opens with rich, smoky layers of coal dust and tar. These deep notes are brightened by invigorating bursts of peppermint and eucalyptus, adding a sweet, cooling lift. Zesty lemon takes center stage, delivering a tangy, refreshing sweetness that balances the smoke beautifully.
Palate
Vibrant citrus leads on the palate, with bold notes of lemon rind and bergamot creating a lively opening. Waves of medicinal smoke soon follow, unfolding into the warming spice of Oloroso sherry casks — think ginger and cumin — before giving way to a dry, lingering impression of cocoa powder and dark espresso.
Finish
Long and satisfying, the finish leaves a trail of salted toffee, charred oak, tar, and the soft burn of sweet heather on fire, rounded out by a final touch of warming spice.
