Ardbeg Smokiverse - Ardbeg Day 2025 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In stock
Crafted with High Gravity Mashing (a genuine distilling term!), this experimental malt takes us on a voyage into new, undiscovered realms of flavour. By experimenting with High Gravity Mashing, the mad scientists at Ardbeg have dialled down the water, cranked up the grist, and packed more grain into the mix than ever before. This process ramps up the sugar in the wort, resulting in a higher gravity measurement than the standard mash. It’s this heightened gravity that has helped unlock this fruitier, more intense Ardbeg.
Taste the emergence of an awe inspiringly fruity Ardbeg. Notes of Muscovado sugar swirl alongside searing aromas of ripening barley and toasted sourdough bread, while sweet peat smoke orbits ripe tropical fruits. Plunge your palate into a crushing mouthfeel that implodes in on itself with intensely rich, creamy flavours.
Aroma: An explosion of fruity, estery notes, reminiscent of smoked bubblegum, fused with whiffs of ripening barley and baked sourdough bread. A splash of water reveals dense, sweet, and aromatic peat smoke, accompanied by gently smoked tropical fruits.
Taste: A rich, creamy mouthfeel drifts into sharp, sooty and spicy notes of creosote, aniseed, and clove. Tempered by the distinct sweetness of muscovado sugar, robust woody notes orbit rich charcoal.
Finish: Finally, in an almost infinite finish, earthly peat moss fuses with sizzling bonfire embers.
