Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm honey-bronze glow.
Nose
Intense peat smoke floods the nose, edged with iodine and sea-salt brine. Resinous oak wafts through, carrying vanilla-caramel sweetness from the bourbon cask, while wisps of lemon zest, burnt sugar and medicinal spice lend a bright, coastal warmth.
Palate
Bold and oily, the palate bursts with peat-tinged smoke, iodine and sea-salt, braided with bourbon vanilla and toffee from the cask. At 58.6% ABV, peppery spice rises against charred oak, while citrus zest brightens the fruit. The finish is long, warming and smoky, with briny ash and a lingering sweetness that grows with time.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with coastal brine and ash, as the Ardbeg peat coats the palate. Bourbon vanilla and gentle spice emerge, deepening into charred oak and a warming pepper that lingers, leaving a mineral, resinous glow.
