Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with sunlit honey highlights and a subtle copper glow.
Nose
Ardbeg’s coastal peat leads the nose: smoky iodine and briny sea air softened by 20 years in bourbon. Vanilla and caramel emerge at the core, with citrus zest, almond and a whisper of ash.
Palate
Silky and refined, this Ardbeg opens with restrained peat that smolders rather than roars, woven with vanilla, honey and subtle toffee. Bourbon-cask maturity adds warm caramel and oak spice, while sea-salt and iodine keep the profile brisk and marine. The finish is long and delicately smoky, leaving a soft mineral tang and a whisper of citrus zest.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with ash-smoked peat, complemented by bourbon-derived vanilla and caramel. A salt-kissed, iodine-tinged warmth lingers, slowly fading into soft oak and a whisper of spice as the smoke gradually subsides.
