"An unusual beast, one of the last ever bottled by allied. The charm and complexity early on is enormous but the fade rate is suprising. That said, still adram of considerable magnificence."

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a dusky mahogany edge.
Nose
Peat smoke dominates, edged with medicinal iodine and sea-salt aroma, evoking a windswept Islay shoreline. Woven in are waxy candle-soot, leather, and dried fruit, with toasted oak and a whisper of sherry sweetness giving depth. The nose promises a measured, regal complexity that lingers long on the senses.
Palate
Deep maritime peat refracts through a velvet palate: charred malt, dark fig and treacle mingle with sherry richness, cocoa and leather, lifted by iodine and sea-salt. Silky and mouth-coating, it slowly releases warmth, with resinous oak and malt lingering into a long, refined finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with maritime peat and iodine lingering on a saline breeze. Sherry-influenced oak threads in warmth, bringing dried-fruit sweetness, cocoa and resin. The peat glows through, tapering slowly to a refined, ember-soft glow with a persistent, elegant fade.
