Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber, sherry-kissed with mahogany depth and a subtle ruby glow.
Nose
Crushed peat and iodine surge from the glass, a sea-smoky lift intertwined with opulent sherry sweetness. Dark fruits—raisins, fig, a hint of cherry—mingle with cocoa, brown sugar and toasted almond. Waxy oak and a whisper of leather deepen the aroma, while a citrus zest brightness threads through the rich, heady scent.
Palate
On the palate, a bold, oily mouthfeel carries dense peat smoke laced with rich sherry sweetness. Dried fig and date mingle with dark chocolate, espresso and spice, while vanilla threads through the long finish, finished by orange zest, caramelized sugar and a final, lingering ember of peat.
Finish
Long and refined, the finish lingers with Ardbeg’s signature peat, entwined with deep sherry sweetness. Notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, espresso, and spice drift through the palate, fading to a warm, smoky, cocoa-dusted finish that slowly fades with a subtly mineral, Islay edge.
