An exclusive and now much sought after release for the Ardbeg Committee which was bottled in 2002 with no age statement. It consisted of casks from the 1970s, 80s and 90s and was bottled at full cask strength.
A not often seen Ardbeg collectable which is fairly unique in that is doesn't have an age statement or individual vintage on such a small production run.
Most of these bottles don't have a back label but this particular example has a commitee label signed and dated by the distillery manager.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a hint of mahogany.
Nose
Intense maritime peat smoke dominates the nose, fused with iodine, saline breeze and a whisper of ash. Underneath lie vanilla sweetness and toffee, mingling with resinous oak. Lemon zest and subtle citrus oils brighten the profile, while a classic Ardbeg medicinal note threads through the depth, all at bold cask strength.
Palate
Uncompromising peat-forward palate, a viscous, oil-rich mouthfeel delivering waves of medicinal smoke, briny iodine and coastal ash. Sherry influence surfaces as dark fruit, cocoa and toasted almond, tempered by vanilla and spice. The cask-strength warmth coats the tongue, finishing long with charcoal, sea spray and a final rasp of pepper.
Finish
Long, peat-driven finish marked by maritime salt, iodine and ash, unfolding into bitter cocoa and espresso, with a peppery warmth that lingers and slowly fades to a dry, smoky echo.
