96.5 points in Jim Murray's whisky bible
The peatiest of all the Ardbeg's and now re-released for 2014 in this Committee only bottling. As expected every bottle has been snapped up and put in the category of investment, which is a shame as the additional smokiness is a real treat. 3000 bottles worldwide with just 900 for the USA.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with a sunlit reddish-gold glow and mahogany-tinted edges.
Nose
Towering peat smoke pours from the glass—dense, medicinal, and maritime, with iodine, sea spray and charred timber. Beneath the storm, bright citrus zest and vanilla sweetness emerge, along with ribbons of caramel and cocoa. The 55% ABV sharpens the aroma, hinting at a fierce, long smoky finish that lingers with a briny, resinous glow.
Palate
Incendiary peat smoke and sea-salt rise on the palate, threaded with iodine and medicinal notes. Charcoal and tar mingle with vanilla warmth and citrus zest, supported by the fiery 55% ABV. The finish is long and piercing—peppery, maritime, and smoke-laden, fading into coastal brine and char.
Finish
Relentless peat crowns the finish: long, smoke-drenched and maritime, with tar, iodine and mineral brine, a peppery bite and a whisper of sweetness. The warmth lingers, slowly fading to a dusky ash as the peat keeps echoing in the afterglow.
