Glencraig (silent) SMWS Society Cask No. 104.1 Whisky 15 Year Old · 1978 Vintage
Out of stock
Glencraig was the name given to whisky produced using the Lomond stills at the Glenburgie distillery. These Lomond stills were removed in 1981 and so Glencraig stopped being produced. Finding any Glencraig is a real challenge but here we have the first single cask 15 Year Old 1978 bottled by the SMWS back in 1993.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a coppery shimmer and a whisper of mahogany.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven bouquet with drenched red fruits—raisins, fig, plum—brightened by orange zest. Almond, toffee, and dark chocolate weave through velvety oak, a whisper of leather and spice lending old-world depth. Rich, glossy and inviting, the nose hints at luxurious maturity and quiet power.
Palate
Silken and full on the palate, it coats with sherry-draped sweetness—raisin, fig and orange zest—alongside dark chocolate, toffee and caramel. Spice arrives as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, with oak and a hint of leather. Warming and persistent, the finish is long and refined, bearing the cask's concentrated, luxurious character.
Finish
An enduring, sherried finish: dark dried fruits and orange zest mingle with cocoa and spice, as oaken sweetness lingers and a warm, peppery glow slowly fades.
