Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with bronze-copper highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
An opulent sherried bouquet: dark figs and sultanas with orange zest, cocoa nibs, vanilla and toasted almond. Treacle and cinnamon-spice mingle with polished oak; a warm ethanol lift threads through the 62.4% spirit. Subtle tobacco and leather add old-library depth, while a citrus lift keeps the aroma bright and tempting.
Palate
Opulent and full-bodied, this palate shows a velvety, oily texture that coats the mouth. Rich sherry notes of fig, raisin, and orange zest mingle with dark chocolate, treacle, and toasted almond. Spices—nutmeg, clove, a touch of cinnamon—wander through polished oak, delivering a long, warming finish.
Finish
Long, generous finish that lingers with warm spice and refined oak; dried fruit sweetness yields to cocoa nibs and dark treacle, carried by a silky, resinous mouthfeel. Cinnamon warmth persists, tapering to a peppery, elegant echo that lingers well after the last drop.
