This 100% Pot Still Whisky from the silent distillery Glen Flagler was bottled sometime pre 1979/80 due its label displaying the bottle size in imperial fluid ounces.

This particular bottle is in fantastic condition with one of the highest fill levels we've ever seen which confirms this bottle has been perfectly stored throughout it's long life.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Elegant bouquet of fresh malt and orchard fruit, honeyed and light. A citrus kiss, a waxy sheen, and delicate almond mingle with vanilla, while a faint sherry sweetness and a whisper of spice complete the old-world, silent-distillery charm.

Palate

Silky and poised on the palate, this all-malt pot-still whisky unfolds with quiet richness. Dried fig and raisin mingle with toffee, almond and a whisper of cocoa from sherry cask influence. Warm spice and polished oak shape a refined, medium-bodied sweetness, finishing long with elegant, lingering resolve.

Finish

Long, refined finish of polished oak and sherry-soaked fruit. Dried orange and cocoa linger, with a subtle ginger warmth and a gentle nutty sweetness, fading to a whisper of leather and spice.

(Glen-Flag-Ler) Glen Flagler was a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky produced within the Moffat distilling complex at Airdrie in North Lanarkshire. The complex was built by Inver House Distillers in the mid-1960s to supply malt and grain whisky for blends, with Garnheath producing grain whisky and separate pot stills used for malt styles including Glen Flagler, Killyloch and the heavily peated Islebrae. The name Glen Flagler did not come from a Scottish glen, but from Flagler Avenue in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Publicker Industries owner Simon Neuman had a home.
