Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery mahogany depth and a warm ruby glow.
Nose
Aromas of ripe red fruits—plum, cherry and raspberry—rise from the glass, joined by sun-warmed figs and raisins. Port-pipe maturation releases caramel, toffee, and dark chocolate, lacquered with orange zest and a whisper of almond. Subtle maritime notes and a fine wood spice lend elegance to the perfume, culminating in a luscious, velvety knit of sweetness and depth.
Palate
Velvety and port-sweetened, the palate reveals plum, cherry and fig layered with raisin, toffee and cocoa. Rich almond and spice mingle while oak frames the structure. Full-bodied and warming at 55.6%, it coats the mouth with an oily texture and delivers a long finish of sea-salt nuance and enduring red-fruit sweetness.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish of port-soaked fruit—ripe plum, fig and cherry mingle with cocoa and toffee, carried by a faint sea-salt breeze. Warming cask-spice and resinous oak linger, slowly fading to a refined, velvet glow.
