Wire Works Whisky: Necessary Evil Finish is a limited-edition dual maturation of their lightly peated single malt. The whisky is first matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in casks that once held Necessary Evil—a bold imperial stout brewed just up the road by the renowned Thornbridge Brewery. The result is a sweet and savoury dram, layered with hazelnuts, freshly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dates, cranberry, and a subtle wisp of smoke.

Nose
Vanilla fudge, milk chocolate digestive biscuits, and freshly roasted coffee form the core; hazelnuts and flaked almonds add nutty depth, while crème brûlée, baked apple pie, cassia, marzipan, sage, and strawberry laces weave through the aroma.
Palate
Cacao nibs, Black Forest gateaux, cracked black peppercorns, salted caramel, Marmite on toast, buttery pastry, Medjool dates, Seville orange marmalade, a hint of spearmint, fresh espresso, and soft white candy.
