Wire Works Virgin Oak is a progression towards a permanent addition to the Distillery’s portfolio (the first being Caduro that launched in early 2023). The second whisky release that has been matured in Virgin Oak – and is a development of a limited release in 2022. A vatting of 9 barrels, matured first in first fill ex-bourbon, and then finished in American virgin oak, with varying toast & char levels to bring out different layers of flavour and complexity.
The bold oak-forward flavours of the casks contribute to the intensity and combination of sweet & spice, showcasing the rich fruit flavours and elegant smoke profile of the core house spirit.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a warm copper-gold core and honey-tinted edges, a sunlit, oak-kissed glow.
Nose
Banoffee pie sweetness mingles with bright fruit-salad notes, while pistachio adds a nutty lift and cranberries provide a tangy sparkle. An inviting, creamy aroma hints at the Virgin Oak influence shaping the core spirit.
Palate
Treacle tart leads the palate, its sweetness carried by toasted nuts and a veil of sweet spice. The mouthfeel is velvety with a warm, comforting depth, echoing the oak-forward character while remaining balanced and inviting.
Finish
A delicate, light smoke lingers on the palate, fading with refined sweetness and a soft touch of oak.
