Wire Works Port Cask Single Malt showcases the Derbyshire distillery’s lightly peated style, matured in fresh Tawny Port barriques and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a bold and complex whisky with a rich, oily texture. Sweet layers of cinder toffee, vanilla fudge, milk chocolate and marzipan intertwine with vibrant red fruit, cherry pie and strawberry notes, lifted by citrus zest, coffee, and delicate spice. A decadent and well-rounded English single malt.

Oil-rich and inviting, this nose layers cinder toffee, vanilla fudge and milk chocolate with marzipan. Vibrant red fruit—cherry and strawberry—meets citrus zest, while coffee notes and a whisper of spice lift the aroma. Port-cask maturity adds a warm, caramel-amber depth beneath a light peat glow.

White Peak Distillery was founded in 2016 by Max and Claire Vaughan in Ambergate, becoming Derbyshire’s first full-scale craft distillery and the first whisky distillery in the Peak District region. Housed in the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works on the banks of the River Derwent, within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has built its identity around a strong sense of Derbyshire provenance and the industrial history of its home.
