White Peak’s Wire Works Virgin Oak Finish is an English single malt that uses virgin oak to bring extra sweetness, spice and texture to the distillery’s lightly peated house style. Bottled at 51.7% ABV, this release had an outturn of 3,061 bottles.
The virgin oak finish adds a richer, more assertive layer to the whisky, building on the underlying fruit and smoke with notes of caramelised sugar, spice and toasted wood. It makes for a bolder take on Wire Works, with the fresh oak giving the whisky plenty of warmth and character without overpowering the spirit.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Leather mingles with caramelised brown sugar and bonfire-toffee, spiced by cinnamon buns and vanilla fudge. Banoffee notes, orchard fruit, boiled sweets, raisins and a whisper of nutmeg.
Palate
Milk chocolate, mace, sandalwood, peppercorn, cinnamon, prune, citrus zest, overripe bananas, orange marmalade, bitter black tea, cigar box, pistachio, raw honey, desiccated coconut.
Finish
Crème brûlée, baked apple, fresh cherries, butter icing, toasted wood, smoke, mace and clove.
