Tasting Notes

Nose

Generous notes of fresh orchard fruit and melon burst from the nose, with sun-warmed pear and honeydew mingling with a delicate citrus zest. Bright, clean, and inviting, it evokes summer orchards and White Peak’s Derbyshire roots.

Palate

Packed with flavours that make you think of dessert: baked lemon, crème brulé, gingerbread, apple crumble and honey cake.

Finish

For contrast and complexity, there’s a whisper of smoke and white pepper too.

White Peak Distillery was founded in 2016 by Max and Claire Vaughan in Ambergate, becoming Derbyshire’s first full-scale craft distillery and the first whisky distillery in the Peak District region. Housed in the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works on the banks of the River Derwent, within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has built its identity around a strong sense of Derbyshire provenance and the industrial history of its home.
