A collection of forty-two different whiskies from the length and breadth of Scotland, selected and bottled by Livingstone in partnership with Elixir Distillers. Each whisky represents a character from the Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, with illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake and character notes by Dave Broom.
Seyton is one of ten characterful whiskies in The Household series.
Ardmore, unusually for a Highland distillery, creates a consistently brilliant peated whisky, yet it has often lived in the shadows as a single malt. I am pleased to bring this gem to the stage as one of The Household: for Seyton, beholden to Macbeth, it has been matured in a cask from its intensely smoky Islay cousin, yet retains a fresh, herbaceous quality.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery highlights and a honey-bronze glow, like autumn sunlight catching whiskey in the glass.
Nose
Intense peat smoke over bright Highland malt, with coastal iodine and a hint of sea-salt. Fresh herbal lift—rosemary, thyme, and green grass—rises with citrus zest and honeyed malt, all carried by a clean, woody-spice warmth and a perfumed, lingering smoke.
Palate
Coastal peat arrives first with smoke and iodine, tempered by creamy Ardmore malt. Lemon zest, green apple and a touch of honey rise on the palate, while rosemary and thyme lend herbal lift. The finish is drying and peppery, long and warming, with menthol and vanilla threading through the smoke. A vibrant Highland peated, 52.5%, carrying Islay fire with fresh, herbaceous poise.
Finish
A long peated finish that lingers with smoky resin and a whisper of sea breeze. Fresh herb notes—thyme and mint—carry through, as a delicate vanilla sweetness fades, leaving a crisp, mineral, herb-savory aftertaste that persists.
