Bottled for Murray McDavid’s Mission Gold series, this Ardmore was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2026 at 22 years old. Matured in bourbon cask and bottled at 55.1% ABV, it was released in an outturn of 507 bottles.
Bourbon casks suit Ardmore particularly well, allowing the distillery’s dry, earthy peat to stay front and centre while adding vanilla, citrus and soft oak. After 22 years in cask, the whisky feels mature and well integrated, with the smoke softened and the overall profile more rounded and elegant.
