Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and rich mahogany depth.
Nose
Sherry-kissed dark fruit leaps from the glass—prune, fig and plum—lifted by orange zest and toasted almond. Cocoa, date sugar and warm spices (cinnamon, clove) nestle in velvety oak, with a soft leather echo. At cask strength the aroma remains poised and elegant, a rare Lowland whisper from a 1975 release.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and warming, this palate coats with treacle and dark cacao, delivering prune, fig and raisin in a lush, sherried sweetness. Espresso-dark notes swirl through the fruit, while cinnamon, clove and nutmeg spark spice against polished oak. The mouthfeel is velvety, leading to a long, luxurious finish of tobacco, leather and a hint of bitter chocolate.
Finish
An expansive, warming finish that lingers gracefully. Rich oak and gentle sherry sweetness coat the palate, giving way to dark fruit, cocoa, and a whisper of spice. The alcohol backbone remains refined, leaving a long, velvety tail of oak, dried fruit, and enduring warmth that slowly fades.
