St. Magdalene (silent) Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Single Cask #2100 Whisky 40 Year Old · 1982 Vintage
In stock
Distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2023 at 54.5% ABV, this 40-year-old from the now silent St. Magdalene distillery was drawn from a refill American oak hogshead (#2100) for Gordon & MacPhail’s Private Collection Recollection Series and yielded 150 bottles.
One of the last malts from one of Scotland’s historic Lowland distilleries — St. Magdalene closed in 1983 — this exceptionally aged single cask showcases decades of slow maturation. Refill American oak lets subtle wood influence support the spirit’s elegant fruit and spice character, with layers of citrus peel, orchard fruit and warm dried spice balanced by gentle oak warmth and a refined, lingering finish.
This release is prized by collectors and enthusiasts alike for its rarity and graceful expression of a lost Lowland classic.
