Also known as the Linlithgow distillery, St Magdalene was established in the mid-eighteenth century. At the turn of the nineteenth century, Provost Adam Dawson, owner and distiller on the adjacent Bonnytoun Farm, purchased the distillery and merged the two together in 1826. renaming it in recognition of the site it occupied – St Magdalene’s Cross.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished copper-bronze with mahogany undertones, a warm amber halo around the edge.
Nose
Baked apples, dusted with demerara sugar, mingle with faint dried herbs; grapefruit zest unfolds, followed by white chocolate and a note of freshly cut grass.
Palate
A vibrant, sunny palate of dried pineapple and passion fruit, lifted by crystallised violet. Lemon curd glows at the core, with a whisper of icing sugar and a faint herbal edge.
Finish
White pepper and charred oak linger on the finish with citrus fruit.
