Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with mahogany undertones, a warm, burnished gold glow.
Nose
Port Ellen’s signature peat and coastal brightness ignite the nose, with sea-salt and iodine riding smoky undertones. Rich sherry influence releases dried fig and raisin, orange zest and cherry, tempered by cacao nibs, almond and vanilla, finishing in a velvety, waxy sweetness.
Palate
Concentrated peat coats the palate with a lacquer of rich sherry. Dark plum and raisin mingle with cocoa, leather and a touch of sea salt, while spice notes of cinnamon and clove lift the mid-palate. Silky, full-bodied and slightly oily, it finishes long and warming, bearing smoke, fruit and a coastal breeze.
Finish
Long, smoky finish where peat lingers with sherried sweetness. Dark fruit, cocoa and fig persist on the palate, brushed by maritime salt and subtle oak spice, gradually fading to a warm, refined glow.
