" Forget about the age. Don't be frightened by the phenol levels. Great whisky is not about numbers, it is about excellent distillation and careful maturation. Here you have a memorable combination of both."

Tasting Notes
Colour
Radiant golden amber with coppery highlights.
Nose
Towering peat smoke, medicinal and maritime, floods the nose—iodine and sea-salt mingle with ash, while a sherry-tinged sweetness threads through. Subtle vanilla, dried citrus, and dark fruit emerge beneath, lending coastal depth to this first edition Islay.
Palate
Powerfully peated, the palate unfolds with a sweeping mantle of smoke, iodine and sea spray, tempered by dark chocolate and dried fruit from sherry influence. Vanilla and toasted oak rise with spice, while peppery notes keep things lively. The finish is long, mineral and smoky, leaving a lingering, resinous warmth.
Finish
Long, dramatic finish of peat and sea-salt smoke, lingering with sherried sweetness. Dark chocolate and dried fruit unfold beneath, yielding to spice and oak. The warmth persists, chalky and maritime, with a mineral afterglow that fades slowly.
