Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-gold with luminous amber depth and warm tawny edges.
Nose
Peat smoke pours from the glass, a sea-salt storm of medicinal peat, iodine and brine. Charred timber frames the profile, while sherried vanilla and a hint of honeyed fruit creep in. Graphite and ash lend gravity, giving a powerful, coastal, intensely layered perfume that hints at the whisky's monumental peat.
Palate
Powerful peat lingers from first sip, a torrent of smoke, medicinal iodine, and sea-salted ash that coats the tongue. Beneath, dark sherry fruits—prune, fig, chocolate—unfold with a velvety sweetness counterpoint to scorching spice. Full, oil-rich mouthfeel; the 61% warmth prickles through, leaving a long, resinous finish of peat, ash and orange zest.
Finish
Long, resonant peat smoke lingers, carried by a maritime kiss of salt and iodine. Sherry-dark fruit notes—raisin and fig—thread through the finish, with cocoa and a peppery bite adding warmth. The peat fades slowly to a velvety ember, leaving a persistent, smoky fade that invites another sip.
