The 2nd release of a full 10 year old Octomore limited to 18,000 bottles with PPM levels of 167 and bottled at 57.3% ABV and aged in an interesting combination of Ex-Bourbon and Grenache Blanc wine casks (a first for Octomore and for me)
The nose is a delight that just keeps on giving and the extra maturity here (most octomore is bottled at 5 years old) along with the funky wine cask finish has added some very interesting and diverse flavours, but then you would expect nothing less from Bruichladdich.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Heavy rain after a hot day on wet sand and pebbles by the coast, sweaty leather, smoked mandarin cheesecake, earthy smoke, oyster sauce, smoked mushroom pâté, tobacco and oatmeal.
Palate
Smoked pear, salty apple, oat biscuits with smoked cheese, herbal lime notes, something floral and spicy in here too, peppery ripe orchard fruits.
Finish
Smoked greek yoghurt, earthy herbal, lime and elderflower cordial, salty goats cheese drying into a lozenge like vegetal finish.
