Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep, dark amber with mahogany edges and a coppery glow.

Nose

Smoky peat entwines with rich sherry sweetness, dried fig, raisin, toffee and dark chocolate, lifted by orange zest and a kiss of vanilla from the bourbon cask. Subtle coastal sea spray and iodine frame the aroma, while polished oak and spice finish with elegant restraint.

Palate

On the palate, bold Campbeltown peat meets rich sherry sweetness. Dried fig, plum and cherry mingle with cocoa, orange zest and toffee; espresso depth adds gravitas. Bourbon vanilla and spice soften the sweetness while a savory, smoky finish lingers with a touch of sea air and leather.

Finish

A long, luxurious finish where sherry sweetness lingers through the peat. Dried fig and raisin mingle with cocoa and spice, while toasted oak and a touch of sea-salt carry the smoke into a warming echo of campfire and tar.

Longrow
(LONG-row) Longrow is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, first produced in 1973 as an experiment to prove that an Islay-style whisky could be made on the mainland. It takes its name from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood beside Springbank, and what began as a one-off run later became a regular part of production, with Longrow established as one of the distillery’s three core styles alongside Springbank and Hazelburn.
