Kilkerran Work In Progress 6 - Bourbon Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In stock
Distilled at Glengyle Distillery and bottled in 2014 at 46% ABV, this release forms part of the Kilkerran “Work In Progress” series, a range created to showcase the evolving spirit from the distillery while it matured towards the eventual core 12-year-old expression. This 6th release was matured in ex-bourbon casks and yielded 9,000 bottles.
The Work In Progress bottlings were released annually during the early years of Kilkerran production following the reopening of Glengyle Distillery in 2004 by the Mitchell family of Springbank. These releases allowed enthusiasts to follow the development of the distillery’s lightly peated Campbeltown spirit as it aged.

Tasting Notes

Bright golden straw with warm honey-amber edges, a sunlit, translucent glow that hints at bourbon maturation.
Nose
Inviting and homely straight away, with ripe green apples, herbal sweetness and rich, sugar-glazed apricots.
Palate
Rich, oily walnuts anchor the palate, continuing the wholesome fruit notes from the nose. A near-perfect balance of sweeter fruit and lively spices—the Campbeltown character is unmistakable: comforting and rich. With a splash of water, it grows sweeter and stickier.
