Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a bronzed edge.
Nose
Bold maritime peat smoke rises with iodine and sea spray, carried on vanilla-laced Bourbon oak. Subtle caramel and toffee sweetness mingles with a whisper of dried fruit and almond from the sherry cask, while a light peppery spice lingers in the aroma, hinting at the complexity to come.
Palate
On the palate, cask-strength peat roars across a foundation of vanilla, toasted oak, and bourbon sweetness. A resinous mouthfeel coats the tongue as charcoal smoke, iodine, and sea-salt mingle with a whisper of sherry fruit. The finish is long, warming, and embers of spice linger with smoky, coastal tang.
Finish
Long and coastal, the finish unfolds peat smoke with vanilla and oak-forward sweetness from Bourbon casks. Sea salt lingers, a whisper of dried fruit, and the heat from cask strength stays warm, tapering to a resinous, lingering afterglow.
