The second release of the 8 year old cask strength release from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown that is owned by the same family as the Springbank distillery.
The 12 year old and the original 8 year old cask strength were among some of the most well recieved new releases from 2017
This batch is bottled at slightly lower strength than the fisrt batch of 56.2% ABV but do not expect this to hang around for long.
Campbeltown is back with a bang and displays classic regional style of being slightly briney, salted with earthy smoke but with lots of fresh citrus fruit and vanillin wood notes to keep you coming back for more.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a warm coppery glow.
Nose
Briny coastal air and earthy smoke rise, tempered by bright citrus zest. Vanilla-laden bourbon oak threads through the aroma, while a maritime mineral spine keeps the palate keen and attentive.
Palate
Powerful and coastal on the palate, with briny, salted-earth smoke and bright citrus zest. Bourbon-cask vanilla and light toffee weave through a full, oily texture, while oak spice and pepper rise to a long, saline finish accented by smoky, maritime notes.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with saline brine and mineral bite, softened by vanilla-laden oak. Fresh citrus oils linger as earthy smoke tapers to a gentle, warm veil, leaving a crisp coastal echo.
