Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with bronze undertones and a warm honey-gold edge.
Nose
Lagavulin's signature peat smoke rises with maritime iodine and sea-salt brine, evoking a windswept Islay shoreline. Beneath, vanilla and honey mingle with citrus zest and a whisper of cocoa, coaxed by toasted oak. A thread of ash and medicinal spice lingers, finishing warm and velvety.
Palate
On the palate, brimming peat smoke swirls with medicinal iodine and sea-salt brine. Rich malt sweetness—vanilla, toffee, and a touch of dark chocolate—gives a balancing warmth. The texture is velvety and slightly oily, with peppery spice and mineral bite that carry into a long, ash-drenched finish infused with maritime zest.
Finish
An enduring maritime peat finish, with iodine-rich smoke, sea-salt and ash lingering through a warm, resinous glow. Subtle vanilla and cocoa from the oak surface briefly, then give way to a long embered sweetness that echoes the Islay coastline.
