Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with a coppery-bronze sheen and a hint of ruby glow.
Nose
Islay peat and maritime brine surge from the glass, tempered by sherry-flecked sweetness. Smoked barley, iodine, and sea-salt unfurl into dark prune, fig, and cocoa, with a whiff of leather and oak spice lingering for a refined, enduring finish.
Palate
Silky and full, this Lagavulin delivers a wave of peat smoke and sea-salt brine, unfolding into rich sherried fruit—raisins, fig, plum—with dark chocolate and toasted almond. Velvet mouthfeel, integrated oak, and subtle spice. Long finish of smoke, leather, espresso, and coastal wind.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with Lagavulin’s maritime peat, carried by sherry-softened fruit notes. Dried fig and dark chocolate drift through the palate, wrapped in oak spice and a delicate mineral bite. The warmth lingers, intensifying the peat’s perfume and leaving a refined, resinous afterglow.
