GlenAllachie Murray McDavid Benchmark Single Malt Scotch Whisky 12 Year Old · 2008 Vintage
In stock
Nestling at the foot of the iconic Ben Rinnes Mountain, at Speyside’s heart, lies the revived Glenallachie Distillery. Murray McDavid is celebrating this excellent spirit in its pure form. This luscious Speysider has matured in a 600-litre Sherry butt for eleven years before being filled into two freshly emptied Limousin Oak casks, previously used to mature Cognac. After a year, the enhanced spirit was reunited, having achieved a harmonious balance between French oak and fine Scottish spirit – a beautiful dram.
There are distict buttery notes on the nose, followed by orange and milk chocolate. The creamy qualities continue on the palate, with fruity toffee and oak spice. The finish is flavoursome yet gentle, with a soft fruitiness and mellow vanilla.
