Part of GlenAllachie’s Virgin Oak Series, this 12 year old single malt was bottled in 2020 at 48% ABV after finishing in Chinquapin virgin oak casks, following initial maturation in American oak.
Chinquapin oak, sourced from the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, is known for imparting pronounced spice, toasted sweetness and deeper oak character. The finishing period adds layers of cinnamon, nutmeg and gentle tannic structure to GlenAllachie’s naturally rich, malt-forward Speyside spirit, creating a well-balanced expression that highlights the influence of uncommon virgin oak.
