Tasting Notes

Nose

Oily, leathered horse saddles, chicken stock and freshly made noodle soup.

Palate

Pleasantly thick body, almost syrupy. A strong dark chocolate fudge note upfront. Bitter charcoal, buttery oak, and just a smear of gooseberry jam.

Finish

Runs a fairly spicy streak, with cinnamon, cloves and cracked pink peppercorns providing a bit of bite and a pleasant bitterness toward the end.

(glen-AL-a-key) Built in 1967 near Aberlour, it spent much of its life producing whisky for blends rather than building a big name as a single malt in its own right. That changed in 2017, when Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson bought the distillery and began reshaping it around a more flavour-led, hands-on vision.
