Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with ruby-gold highlights and a hint of mahogany along the rim.
Nose
Port Ellen's signature peat smoke fills the nose with maritime brine and iodine, a buoyant spine of citrus zest and vanilla-soaked oak. Deep sherry notes weave in dark fig, raisin, cocoa and a whisper of sea-salted caramel, all crowned by a refined, smoky sheen.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied palate unfurls smoky peat with saline maritime notes, layered with rich dried fruit and fig from the sherry cask. Dark chocolate, espresso and toasted almond braid through supple oak, finishing long and warming with spice, and a final whisper of salt.
Finish
Extremely long and peaty, the finish carries coastal brine and ash long after the sip, with lingering smoke that softens into dried fruit, cocoa and a subtle sherried sweetness, slowly fading to a warm, resinous glow.
