Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany-amber with burnished copper edges and a luminous honey-gold glow.
Nose
Coastal peat and iodine rise on a sea-salt breeze, aura of Port Ellen’s maritime spirit. Rich sherry influence blooms with dark fruit, cocoa and espresso, while leather, waxy oak and a touch of vanilla add depth. A refined, lingering smoke coats the senses with mineral clarity.
Palate
Powerful yet refined, this Port Ellen unfurls dense peat smoke with sea-salt breeze. Sherry maturity coats dark fruit—raisin, fig, prune—echoed by cocoa, espresso and leather. Spice and tobacco thread a velvety, oil-slick mouthfeel. The finish extends with gentle oak, iodine and more smoke, leaving a maritime warmth and lingering chocolate-dark sweetness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with saline peat and smoke lingering, a whisper of iodine over cocoa-dusted dark fruit and velvet oak. Warming spice unfurls, leaving a refined trail of leather, tobacco and sea breeze that fades to a soft, ember-like warmth.
