Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, sun-burnished amber with copper highlights and mahogany depth — a warm, saturated glow that hints at rich sherry maturation.
Nose
Opulent sherry-rich aroma with creamy Balvenie malt at the core. Sun-dried raisin and fig mingle with burnt sugar, toffee and orange zest. Subtle dark chocolate, almond and cinnamon unfold over polished oak and leather, while a waxy honey gloss lingers. A restrained, elegant bouquet that promises depth and refinement.
Palate
Silky and opulent on the palate, this 45-year Balvenie delivers a robust sherried sweetness—prune, fig and orange peel—woven with honey, toffee and walnut. Spices of clove and cinnamon mingle with warm oak as a waxy, full mouthfeel mantles the tongue, carrying the fruit into a long, lingering finish.
Finish
Opulent and enduring, this finish drapes the palate in velvet sherry sweetness—fig and raisin with dark chocolate and orange zest, woven with spice. Polished oak lingers, delivering a warm, refined glow that slowly tapers to a long, elegant drift of leather and tobacco.
