These casks are the original experiment by David Stewart to finish The Balvenie in French Pineau casks, after a few years the results were not as desired, so he investigated using a different source of Pineau and French Oak 16 was born! However, this batch continued to live in these casks, discovered after 8 years in Pineau to find they had really developed into something incredible.
