Batch 8 will be the final bottling in the distinguished and much-revered Tun 1509 series.
To create Batch No. 8 David C. Stewart MBE carefully hand-selected eighteen of the finest casks - four ex-Bourbon barrels, six second fill Sherry butts, five refill puncheons and three new Sherry butts from the distilleries precious aged whiskies. These eighteen casks have spent three months in a traditional marrying Tun, knitting together.
Sweet notes of baked citrus tarts entwine with aromas of orange marmalade and maple syrup. This subtle zing is perfectly wrapped in a sweet nuttiness and overflowing spices. An unmistakable texture flows over the palate, rich, toffee sweetness, buttery vanilla and a swirl of house honey form the perfect sip. The initial sweetness from the perfectly toasted oak, dispels to reveal layers of candied ginger, a hint of cardamom & ground spices. The finish is oaky and ever lasting.

Nose

Toasted oak sweetness gives way to layers of candied ginger, cardamom and warm ground spices, all carried by a full, luscious texture. The finish is long, oaky and quietly lingering.

An oaky, long-lingering finish that wraps the palate in toasted wood, subtle spice and a lasting kiss of honeyed vanilla warmth.
