Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and indulgent with notes of muscovado sugar and manuka honey. Lighter fruit notes intersperse the aroma with occasional hints of green banana and light spice.

Palate

Beautifully smooth with a velvet vanilla viscosity. The initial burst of sweetness graduates to treacle toffee, aged leather and deep oak tannin.

Finish

Lingering sweet with a wonderful mouth-coating oiliness.

(bal-VENN-ee) Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
