An incredibly dark whisky, very rich in texture.
Initially, the nose is delicate-not what you would expect after seeing the colour. Once a little air has interacted, strong sherry aromas emerge, bringing forth a waterfall of scents varying from lychees to papaya.
As you would expect from a whisky of this calibre and age, the presence of the oak is strong. Adding a little water takes the edge away from the tannins, revealing flavours of brandy and armagnac.
A powerful whisky. Although less than 50% Vol, it tastes much stronger and this is evident on the finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, almost opaque mahogany with a glossy, wine-dark core.
Nose
Initially delicate, the nose opens with a gentle sherry perfume that deepens as air circulates. A cascade of lychee and papaya unfolds, intertwined with rich oak, all delivering a velvety, aged richness that hints at the 50-year cask.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied on the palate, a luxurious, syrupy mouthfeel that carries a dense sherry influence. Rich oak frames velvety fruit, with spice lending lift. A splash of water softens the tannins to reveal brandy- and Armagnac-like warmth, plus notes of fig, dried plum and tropical hints of lychee and papaya. A powerful, persistent finish that remains refined and deeply indulgent.
Finish
Long, powerful and richly sherried, the finish clings with velvet-touched oak and a persistent warmth. Notes of dried fruit carry through, offset by hints of brandy and Armagnac, slowly fading into spice and a refined, tannic kiss that lingers well beyond the last drop.
