Since 2021, Peter Donnelly, Director at Pol Roger Portfolio and Keeper of the Quaich, has curated a collection celebrating Glenfarclas' tradition and innovation under the Grant family's leadership.
To mark the occasion, on January 1st 2000, the Grant family hand-selected a small number of casks to be filled with the first spirit of the new millennium. Of the casks chosen for this special occasion, among them was a First Fill Sherry Butt from the renowned Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin. Only 600 decanters were filled with this extraordinary whisky, bottled at 47.4% ABV and in its natural colour. Aged for 24 years, this whisky was drawn from the 12th cask filled that day, the First Fill Sherry Butt. It is a perfect blend of Glenfarclas' time-honoured craftsmanship and forward-thinking innovation - a true rarity and a piece of whisky history.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Sherry-forward with nutty sweetness and hints of cognac. Aromas of warm spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—blended with fresh Seville oranges, evoking Christmas.
Palate
Layers of sherry, dark chocolate and candied oranges, rich dried fruits harmonize with the oak and subtle spices. A beautifully balanced marriage of alcohol and wood.
Finish
Long and lingering, with dry oak and deep cocoa notes. Less sweetness, with a more refined, bittersweet character.
